7. Acceptable Use Policy
7.1 Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ('AUP') describes the standards of conduct that all Charitey Platform users must adhere to. It supplements our Terms and Conditions and Community Guidelines. By using the Platform, you agree to comply with this AUP.
7.2 Proper Platform Usage
The Platform is designed exclusively for the purpose of facilitating charitable connections between donors, NGOs, and volunteers in India. You must use the Platform only for this intended purpose. All interactions, submissions, and communications on the Platform should be genuine, lawful, and consistent with the social impact mission of Charitey.
7.3 User Responsibilities
Each user is individually responsible for:
- Ensuring that all information they provide is accurate and up to date.
- Maintaining the security of their account credentials.
- Ensuring that their use of the Platform complies with all applicable laws.
- Promptly reporting any security vulnerabilities or suspicious activity to security@charitey.org.
7.4 Security
Users must not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or to any other user's account.
- Probe, scan, or test the security of the Platform without express written authorisation.
- Introduce malware, trojans, ransomware, or other harmful code.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Platform or its servers.
- Use the Platform in a manner that could expose it to distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks or other forms of cyberattack.
- Bypass or circumvent any authentication, encryption, or access control mechanism.
7.5 Spam and Unsolicited Communications
Users must not:
- Send unsolicited bulk messages to other users.
- Use Platform messaging features for commercial solicitation unrelated to charitable activities.
- Submit repetitive or duplicate listings designed to inflate visibility.
- Use the Platform to recruit users to third-party commercial platforms.
7.6 Fraud and Misrepresentation
Users must not engage in any fraudulent activity, including:
- Creating accounts under false identities.
- Misrepresenting the nature, condition, or availability of donated goods.
- Fabricating NGO activities or beneficiary populations.
- Submitting false documents for verification purposes.
- Redirecting charitable resources for personal gain.
7.7 Automated Access and Scraping
The following are strictly prohibited without prior written consent from Charitey:
- The use of bots, crawlers, scrapers, or automated scripts to access, collect, or index Platform content.
- Automated posting, messaging, or interaction with the Platform.
- Data harvesting for the purpose of creating competing platforms or databases.
- Using the Platform's API (when available) beyond the scope of permitted use.
7.8 Illegal Activities
The Platform must not be used to facilitate any illegal activity, including but not limited to:
- Money laundering, tax evasion, or financial fraud.
- Trade in prohibited or restricted goods.
- Violation of foreign contribution regulations (FCRA).
- Any activity constituting an offence under the Indian Penal Code, Information Technology Act, or any other applicable statute.
7.9 Enforcement
Violations of this AUP will result in appropriate enforcement action, including account suspension, permanent banning, and referral to law enforcement authorities. Charitey reserves the right to monitor Platform activity to detect and prevent AUP violations, subject to applicable privacy laws.
